The Voice Australia (#TheVoiceAU, @rachaeleahcar @Kariseeden @delta_goodrem @Seal) Launched its “Live” Shows last night, showing how across Twitter, an Australian TV show can dominate trending topics online. How did they do it? The power of TV sure; However according to B&T, 27% of people watch a TV show based on a friend’s recommendation via a social networking site. So add in smart social strategy – All of the contestants and every mentor, Seal, Delta Goodrem, Joel Madden, Keith Urban, and back up coaches, Ricki-Lee Coulter, Darren Hayes, Megan Washington and Benji Madden all have twitter accounts which they post from live on the show. The effect? many trending topics including #TheVoiceAU on during the entire show.

The genius here is the audience reached is multiplied by users across Twitter asking; why is this trending; and ending up watching the YouTube videos or TheVoice Website www.thevoice.com.au/. How powerful is this? TheVoiceAU YouTube is fast heading to 10 Million views in 2 weeks. TheVoiceAustralia/ – Could the engagement and conversion be better, certainly; The Facebook and Website should have easier listed @twitternames so audience can connect the to their favourite star faster. Plus add in a social media coach who reminds the stars to actually link to the website and videos. Either way watch out for #TheVoiceAU trending again when LIVE on Channel Nine in the coming weeks.
