We get asked a lot for a snapshot of our work, and especially what is Mobile First Design – so we’ve made it easy posting portfolios on behance and dribble which covers a chunk of our creative over the past year or so. The Designs cover Website development, Design Sprints, CMS builds, Branding, App Builds, eCommerce Platforms, Print, Video and a ton more.
As you can see we are huge supporters of minimal, clean design. No matter the core application for design, more and more users are seeing Mobile First Design as a lead – why? Simple, we’re all watching our phones while we watch TV, travel to work, etc etc – and this is becoming a huge portion of screen time. We broke through 50% years ago, so now we push Mobile First Design as a focus.
Mobile First Design brings about 2 very interesting aspects of design. It streamlines the amount you can (or should) do on the real-estate of the screen visually, and therefore simplifies the communication per screen down to a more traditional design and marketing approach that some of us remember from the good-old-days of newspaper and magazine advertising; Headline, Graphic or Image, Body Copy. And not a lot more. These two aspects align well with the noise is everywhere, capture people’s attention with a single value proposition. And it is also being reflected in the advertising platforms themselves keen not to over saturate peoples attention – like facebook implanting their 25 now 20% maximum to text on advertising graphic.
All this leads to better visual aesthetics, which is what all design should work towards, simplifying pathways, fonts and elements to the core of a style guide, so that consistency in market of your brands are also recognised through the noise.
Go on, see if you can challenge us on "Mobile First Design Folios Egs. on Behance and Dribble" - Part of our 183 services at AndMine. We are quick to respond but if you want to go direct, test us during office hours.
