AndMine was tasked with Mobile App Development of a bike-selling App in Nepal… what did we call it ?… Bhatbhate.
Did you know the term Bhat Bhate comes from the common word for bike in Nepal? It’s based on how the bike sounds. When bikes first landed in Nepal, the locals didn’t know what they were so they called it what they sounded like… the engine revving!!… ‘bhat bhat bhat bhate!” …locals love it.
It is basically the car sales of Nepal, with over 1500 bikes listed. Upon launching in just under 2 months there were 20,000 app users, 6000 Facebook Likes and over 200 organic engagements per day from our posting strategy! Bhatbhate was also featured in 30 media and newspaper placements.
We went low-tech on the advertising too – Across Nepal, Bhatbhate posters have been placed in bike repair stores. On each poster, there is a barcode which you can scan using your phone. The scan then brings up the Bhatbhate app to download.
Bhatbhate lets you easily buy or sell your bike or bikes all from one place. It is the #1 bike app for individuals and dealers. We created it to make the buying and selling bikes process simple. Sellers can list bikes quickly, with the price they want, and share it with tens of thousands of potential buyers. Buyers can search within their budget and type quickly, finding bikes and then connecting with sellers easily. Communication is built directly into it to ensure trusted buyers and sellers connect over in Bhatbhate’s safe and secure App. As it continues to take over Nepal, the plan is to assist the rollout into other countries it is a true word-of-mouth brand in Nepal.
